Mattie and The Sea Lions

$0.00

Short Story (Children's)

Excerpt: “A thumping sound roused Mattie the schnauzer from a deep sleep. She perked up one ear and looked around, but saw nothing unusual. She stretched, yawned, walked over to the edge of the bed and leaped off. Mattie trotted out the bedroom door and down the stairs into the kitchen. The stove and counter far above her looked undisturbed. From the view of a miniature schnauzer, about ten inches off the floor, everything looks far above you. She patrolled her home. All seemed well. The thump again. It came from the small deck outside the back door. She ran over for a look. It was only Willow, the cat returning from her nightly journey into the woods behind their home. Mattie was happy that there wasn't any danger. She went upstairs to wake her person Annemarie. This was to be a special day because Mattie and Annemarie were going on a boat trip around Monterey Bay. Mattie was excited because she had never been on a boat before, and she loved to go anywhere with Annemarie, except, of course, to the vet.She made a high leap onto the bed and said to Annemarie, "It's morning! Let's eat and get going! I'm ready! What actually came out was, "Warf! Arooo... Buff, buff!”
